The O'Fallon Police Department is a progressive organization consisting of 102 sworn officers and 30 full-time non-sworn personnel. The department serves O'Fallon, Missouri (pop. 76,000) - ranked as one of America's "Best Places to Live" in 2006 and 2008 by Money magazine.

Department Facts


  • Accumulated sick leave (up to 480 hours); including sick leave buyback for hours accumulated over 480
  • Annual uniform and maintenance allowance ($250, additional allowance for plain clothes assignments)
  • Deferred compensation plan

  • At least 21 years of age by hire date
  • Completed 30 hours of college course work (60 hours preferred) from an accredited institution
  • Meet background investigation standards
  • Meet criminal history standards
  • Possess a Class "A" Missouri P.O.S.T. certification
  • Successfully complete all phases of the selection process
  • U.S. citizen
  • Valid Missouri driver's license + excellent driving record

Retirement Package

The City of O'Fallon participates in the Missouri LAGERS L-6 program. Medical insurance through the City is also available for retirees. Benefits from the plan are in addition to your benefits from Social Security and supplemental deferred compensation plans.

  • Successfully complete field training program
